THIS thug, posing with a sniper rifle in front of a Nazi flag, wants your vote.

Next month bearded Dave Jones will be canvassing for support as he stands in a local council election.

The far-right crackpot is just one of a host of vile candidates hoping to be elected at the polls on May 3.

A Daily Star Sunday investigation uncovered a string of unsavoury characters clamouring for power including:

– Self-confessed Nazis.

– A date rape drug peddler.

– A BNP man who allegedly boasted that he volunteered to fight against Britain in the Falklands War.

The shocking revelations are a warning to Brits to get out and vote to keep racist nutters away from power.

Swastika fan Jones hopes to land a seat in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, for the right-wing British People’s Party.

The hateful band of fascists advocate kicking all non-whites out of Britain and believe homosexuality is a crime.

Another Nazi-loving candidate is the British National Party’s Joe Killen, battling to represent Tranmere and Birkenhead, Wirral.

Also on the roll of shame is the BNP’s London Mayor candidate Carlos Cortiglia, who once allegedly boasted he signed up to fight with Argentina in the Falklands War.

Uruguayan Cortiglia, 54, who came to the UK in 1989, told Argentine newspaper La Nacion in 2003: “I’m Argentine Eastern, or put another way, Uruguayan by birth, and I feel very emotionally tied to Argentina. In 1982 I volunteered to go to the Falkland Islands.”

When questioned by the Daily Star Sunday, Cortiglia claimed the interview was a “fabrication” and was part of a “smear campaign” against him.

Also running for the BNP in the Greater London Assembly elections is Soho sex shop owner Steve Squire.

Squire hit the headlines in 2001 after he was caught on camera selling date rape drug GHB from the shop.

Matthew Collins, from anti- fascist group Hope Not Hate, said: “People face very serious choices at these elections.

“All the far-right appear to have on offer is swastikas and date rape drugs.

“I know the British people will reject these morons.”
