Hartlepool man admits to violent disorder during an English Defence League demonstration
A HARTLEPOOL man has pleaded guilty to violent disorder following an investigation into disturbances during an English Defence League rally.
Michael Wilson, 19, admitted the charge during a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court.
Missiles, including rocks and glass bottles, were thrown at police lines during the protest in Centenary Square on July 20 last year.
Wilson, of Arkley Crescent, Hartlepool, was granted bail and will be sentenced on a date yet to be fixed.
He is among five people who admitted the offence at the crown court hearing and have been bailed ahead of sentencing.
Eight other defendants accused of committing offences at an EDL demonstration in Birmingham city centre were not required to enter a plea during the hearing.
